A metered-dose inhaler or MDI is the most commonly used inhaler in treating lung diseases including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Its components include: the drug, a propellant mixture, a canister, a metering valve, and a mouthpiece activator. Some of these inhalers also have a spacer device, which extends the device away from the mouth.
Some people who use an inhaler do so incorrectly and don't receive a full dose of medication. This video will help you learn the best way to user an inhaler.
